Directing offshore marine operations on 14 oceans and seas. Including Alaska’s arctic waters and working with clients in 27 foreign countries on 5 continents. Highly effective communication, motivational and inspirational skills, sound leadership, and technical experience in marine operations. Resulting in the successful movement as the Rig Mover and Tow Master on over 350 floating inland river and lake barges, posted swamp barges, offshore mobile jack-up, and semi-submersible drilling units in water depth ratings 8 to 10,000 ft. Successful interaction with client management team to engender sustainable joint venture leadership for the implementation of integrated multi-company efforts, inclusive of performance oriented incentives. Leadership in high profile projects, including contributions to the project’s basis of design, as well as direct supervision and responsibility on all marine aspects of offshore drilling units, including rig moves, ship modifications, cargo logistics, marine inspection, certification, stability calculations, safety programs, training, budget preparation, bid proposals, and personnel mentoring. Participated, managed, and directly supervised design, fabrication of complex equipment systems, new construction, and refurbishment and repair of mature offshore rigs with shipyard experience in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Nigeria, Russia, and the United States. Started the Dutton’s Navigation Rig Move School for jack-ups as the author of the textbook “Introduction to Practical Rigmoving” and designed a simulator encompassing twin screw vessel operation, towing practices, and jack-up rig positioning techniques over fixed offshore platforms. Training over 500 students from International Clients; Noble Drilling, Global Santa Fe, Seadrill, Transocean, Shelf Drilling, Paragon Drilling, Diamond Drilling, Atwood Oceanics, ENSCO, Maersk Drilling, KCA Deutag, PEMEX, ONGC, PETRONAS, Noble Drilling, Matthews Daniel, BP, Keppel FELS, and BHP Billiton.
